This project dealt with a sensitive issue of social justice around campus safety
and sexual harassment on campuses.

The main goal of the class during the project was to understand how to create value by exposing us to all aspects of the business development. We moved from process of ideation to the creation, financing, and running of a start-up business, a benefit corporation, a nonprofit organization, or new earned income model and/or program for an existing business or organization.
Our research was based on understanding the existing solutions in the market like I'm here for YOU, Hollaback etc. and also survey in the University to better understand the needs of the students and the school. We also interviewed the people in the position of the Director of Community Standards and Title IX Coordinator of various campuses.

“They don’t need it until they need it”
- Marty McCampbell, Deputy Title IX Coordinator, Indiana University South Bend
My teammate and I worked towards a system of social improvement in campuses by giving the schools the data collected by promoting an app among students during peak admission times or proposing a model where schools would compete on safety and not just tuition money.

The platform would important features like calling the helpline directly, consulting the counselor, personal guide to book appointment, notifications that impart knowledge about violence. Help a friend section would provide guidance to bystanders to act in a situation. It would also have additional feature linking to the medical insurance in the next stage.
How does it work:

It would be a success when:
- there are no hiccups in coming forward and speaking about it
- there is no fear in the minds of students and staff in and around IIT campus so much so that it becomes a national standard for all campuses over the USA.
“Abuse thrives only in Silence”
